9. Wooden Walkway
Wood, apart from wood chips, hasn’t been discussed yet. While wood chips have their uses, they may not be suitable for every situation, especially when it comes to mowing near their edges. Though not as challenging as gravel, loose materials can be propelled in unpredictable directions when caught under the blades of a mower. Creating a more dedicated path with decking boards is a solution. This path can be flanked by gravel for a formal look or adorned with flowers, bushes, and low-growing plants on each side, enhancing the landscape’s beauty. This idea is particularly advantageous for yards with slopes, as the boards can easily be transformed into steps and work well in wet areas.
